Personalized Treatment Options
Sexual dysfunction often requires a multifaceted treatment strategy. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all fix; instead, we draw from a broad toolkit of interventions – from medical treatments and devices to counseling techniques and lifestyle adjustments – to create a plan tailored to your specific situation.

Treatment Options for Sexual Dysfunction
Here are some of the treatment avenues we offer (often combined for a comprehensive solution):
- Hypoactive Sexual Desire (Low Libido): For men or women experiencing persistently low sex drive (and distressed by it), we address potential hormonal and psychological contributors. If hormone deficiencies are present (like low testosterone in men or low estrogen in women), hormone replacement therapy can significantly boost desire. We might use testosterone therapy in men or a low-dose in women (off-label) to improve libido . We also consider newer FDA-approved options for female HSDD: Addyi® (flibanserin) – a daily pill that can help premenopausal women with low sexual desire – or Vyleesi® (bremelanotide) – a self-injection on an as-needed basis to increase female libido. For men and women, we offer PT-141 (Bremelanotide) peptide therapy, which works via the brain to enhance sexual interest (this is essentially the same peptide as Vyleesi, and can be used in men as an alternative treatment to boost libido and arousal). In parallel, we look at mental and relationship factors: sometimes stress reduction, sex therapy, or couples counseling is employed to rekindle desire in a relationship once medical factors are addressed.
- Erectile Dysfunction (ED): We take a comprehensive approach to ED, which is the inability to get or maintain an erection suitable for intercourse. Our first step is often optimizing overall health – lifestyle changes can make a big difference. We guide you on improving diet (heart-healthy nutrition), exercise, weight management, good sleep, and reducing smoking/alcohol, because ED is often a blood flow issue related to vascular health. We may suggest specific supplements (scientifically backed nutraceuticals) that support nitric oxide production and blood vessel health – things like L-arginine, citrulline, certain herbs – as part of a personalized natural plan (we can even offer high-quality supplement regimens through our clinic). Of course, we have standard medical treatments such as PDE5 inhibitor medications – e.g. Viagra® (sildenafil), Cialis® (tadalafil) – which increase blood flow to the penis and are effective for many men. But we don’t stop there; for more resistant ED or for men seeking a potential long-term improvement, we provide advanced therapies like:
-
- Shock Wave Therapy (LI-ESWT): A cutting-edge non-invasive treatment that uses low-intensity acoustic waves applied to the penis to stimulate the growth of new blood vessels and nerve fibers. The shockwaves induce a process called angiogenesis (new vessel formation) and tissue remodeling, essentially rehabilitating the erectile tissue . It also appears to trigger the release of nitric oxide and other growth factors, which improves blood flow and erection quality. The procedure is painless (just a slight tapping sensation), has no downtime, and is done in a series of in-office sessions (typically 6-12 sessions over a few weeks). The goal is to restore natural erectile function so that spontaneity returns and reliance on pills can decrease. We’ve seen very promising results – even men who had not responded to medications can often achieve improved erections after shockwave therapy.
- Intracavernosal Injections (ICI): For severe ED or on an as-needed basis, we can prescribe injectable ED medications (such as Trimix) that are administered directly into the penile tissue before intercourse. While the idea can sound intimidating, the needles are very small and most patients find it quite manageable. The medication (a mix of vasodilators) reliably causes an erection within minutes, bypassing any blood flow blockages. We carefully train you in the technique. This method is a proven rescue therapy for those who don’t respond to oral meds.
- PRP Therapy (P-Shot®): We offer Platelet-Rich Plasma injections into the penis – popularly known as the P-Shot – which use growth factors from your own blood to rejuvenate penile tissues. PRP can stimulate improved blood flow, nerve sensitivity, and even tissue remodeling. Many men report stronger, more sustainable erections and heightened sensation a few weeks after a PRP treatment. It’s a natural approach that pairs well with other therapies.
- “Penile Filler” for Girth Enhancement: For men concerned about penile size (especially girth), we provide penile filler injections (using hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers) as a cosmetic option. Increasing penile circumference can improve self-confidence, and in some cases, the weight of added girth can reduce mild venous leak ED. The procedure is done under local anesthetic, and results are immediate (with some temporary swelling). We ensure a natural, even result. This is an elective aesthetic procedure but part of sexual wellness for those who desire it.
- Scrotal “Rejuvenation” (Scrotox): Another niche offering for men is Scrotox, where a small dose of Botox is injected into the scrotum. This relaxes the cremaster muscles, allowing the testicles to hang a bit lower and the scrotal skin to appear smoother and less wrinkled. The effect is a lower-hanging, more relaxed scrotum, which some men find aesthetically or physically pleasing. It can also reduce scrotal sweating. The treatment’s effects last a few months and is purely optional for cosmetic preference.
- We will customize an ED treatment plan from these options that suits your severity and goals. Often a combination (e.g. lifestyle + medications for immediate help + shockwave for long-term improvement) works great. You do not have to accept ED as permanent – there are many ways we can help you regain reliable function.
- Female Arousal Disorders & Sexual Pain: Women’s sexual function issues can be complex, but we have solutions for the common ones. For women who have trouble with arousal – for example, difficulty becoming lubricated or lack of genital response – we first address any hormonal deficits. Localized estrogen therapy (like vaginal estrogen creams or inserts) can vastly improve vaginal dryness and tissue suppleness in menopausal women, making arousal and sex comfortable again. If needed, a low dose of testosterone or DHEA vaginal cream can be added to enhance arousal (off-label but sometimes used under careful supervision). We also provide cutting-edge therapies like:
- CO2 Lift-V Carboxytherapy: This is a unique, non-invasive vaginal rejuvenation treatment involving a carbon dioxide gel mask applied to the vulva and vagina. The CO₂ creates a Bohr effect, prompting a rush of oxygen-rich blood to the tissues. This increased circulation stimulates collagen production and cellular renewal. The result is often improved vaginal moisture, elasticity, and a healthier appearance of the vulvar skin. It can help with issues like dryness, mild urinary incontinence, and vaginal laxity. The treatment is painless and done in a series (with at-home kits available for maintenance). It’s a great option for women who want to improve vaginal health without hormones or lasers.
- Red Light Therapy (Photobiomodulation): We utilize low-level red and near-infrared light therapy applied to the vaginal area (with a special device) to stimulate cellular activity. The light energy boosts mitochondrial function in cells, leading to increased collagen production, enhanced blood flow, and reduced inflammation. This can translate into stronger, more resilient vaginal tissue. Women with vaginal dryness, atrophy, minor pain, or even pelvic floor muscle tightness can experience relief and improved sensation from a series of red light therapy sessions. It’s completely painless – just a gentle warmth. Think of it as a healing light that helps rejuvenate intimate tissue.
- O-Shot® (PRP for Women): Just as PRP can help men, we offer an Orgasm Shot (O-Shot) for women, where PRP from your blood is injected near the clitoris and upper vagina. This can spur growth of new blood vessels and nerves. Many women report increased arousal, stronger orgasms, and improvement in stress urinary incontinence after an O-Shot. It’s a quick procedure with numbing cream to keep you comfortable.
- Treatment for Sexual Pain Disorders: For conditions like vulvodynia (unexplained vulvar pain or burning), vaginismus (involuntary tightness of vaginal muscles making penetration painful), pudendal neuralgia, or pain from conditions like endometriosis or past trauma, we take a multidisciplinary approach. We address any underlying infections or vaginal microbiome imbalances (sometimes chronic yeast or BV can cause pain). Topical therapies (numbing gels, hormone creams if due to atrophy) can be prescribed. In some cases, nerve block injections or PRP can be used to calm nerve irritation. We collaborate closely with gynecologists or urologists for complex cases, ensuring you get the comprehensive care needed to alleviate pain and reclaim pleasurable function.
- Chronic Prostatitis & Pelvic Pain in Men: Men aren’t immune to sexual pain – issues like chronic prostatitis or pelvic floor muscle tension can cause painful ejaculation or discomfort. Our treatments may include antimicrobial therapy if an infection is present, anti-inflammatory medications, pelvic floor relaxation techniques. We aim to eliminate pain and restore comfort with intimacy.
- Hormonal Therapies for Sexual Function: Often, optimizing hormones is a foundational treatment for sexual dysfunction. We’ve covered BHRT in detail above – and indeed, if you have low testosterone, estrogen, or thyroid levels contributing to your sexual issues, treating those can result in huge improvements in libido, erection quality, lubrication, and overall sexual enjoyment. Our clinic will screen for and address hormonal problems as a standard part of sexual dysfunction care (for example, it’s common to find a man with ED has low testosterone, or a woman with low libido has an underactive thyroid – and once corrected, their sexual function rebounds). We also stay up-to-date on new FDA-approved medications specifically for sexual disorders (like those mentioned for female HSDD). If a medication like that could benefit you, we’ll incorporate it.
- Regenerative & Novel Therapies: We are proud to offer some of the latest regenerative options for sexual rejuvenation:
- Exosome Therapy: Exosomes are nano-sized vesicles derived from stem cells, rich in growth factors and signaling molecules. They represent an emerging frontier in regenerative medicine. We provide exosome injections for sexual wellness as a cutting-edge alternative or addition to PRP. For men, exosomes can be injected into the penis (similar to a P-Shot) to potentially yield even greater improvements in vascularization and nerve repair. For women, exosome injections around the clitoris and vaginal wall (like an O-Shot) may enhance sensitivity, arousal, and tissue quality. Early reports are very encouraging, though this is an evolving science. We obtain exosomes from reputable labs ensuring they are safe, sterile, and derived ethically. Exosome therapy might be suggested if you desire the absolute latest in bio-regenerative enhancement or if previous treatments haven’t given the desired result.
- Peptide Therapies for Libido: We’ve touched on PT-141 (bremelanotide) which is a peptide that increases sexual desire by acting on the brain. We can prescribe this peptide (either as an injectable or a nasal spray in development) for use before sexual activity to help spark arousal. Another peptide sometimes used is Kisspeptin, which can stimulate gonadotropin hormones and in some studies enhanced arousal in women – this is more experimental but we can explore it if appropriate.
- Other Devices: Depending on the case, we might recommend vacuum erection devices (VEDs) for men as a mechanical aid and to keep tissues healthy (particularly if recovering from prostate surgery), or vibratory stimulation devices for women with arousal/orgasm difficulty as part of sensate focus exercises. We stay open to any tool that could help you.
- Psychosexual Counseling and Therapy: Because the mind plays such a pivotal role, counseling is often a game-changer, especially when combined with medical treatments. We have an in-house Psychosexual Therapy service (see “Psychosexual Therapy” below for details) with expert therapists who can work with individuals or couples. Through techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based therapy, and traditional sex therapy, we help patients overcome performance anxiety, negative sexual self-image, communication issues, or trauma that may be holding them back. For example, a man might benefit from CBT to unlearn anxiety patterns contributing to ED, or a couple might improve intimacy through guided sensate focus exercises. We may also teach mindfulness practices to enhance present-moment awareness during intimacy, which can greatly improve one’s sexual experience. If your treatment plan involves therapy, rest assured it’s a confidential process aimed at empowering you with coping strategies and new skills, not blaming or shaming. Often, combining counseling with medical treatments yields the best outcome – the mind and body work hand-in-hand.
